Tour Of Missouri – My brush with greatness – Christian Vande Velde

I rode my bicycle from the house to see The final stage of The Tour Of Missouri end in KC. It’s was really fun. We rode to at least 6 different parts of the course and I took LOTS of photos. I put 30 miles on my bike. Much less than the 72 miles the pros rode but I was tired when I got home, nonetheless.

The highlight was talking to Christian VanDevelde. I made some stupid remark and he actually answered me and I got a GREAT shot of him.

This is NOT zoomed in nor cropped. For once, I was in the right place at the right time. Here are all my pics on Flickr.com

OK, I didn’t forget the winner. Dave Zabriskie. With his bottle of Missouri Wine, of course.

Earth Fest Last Saturday

Boy at Earth Fest KCWe went to Earth Fest in Theiss Park just south of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art last Saturday. We rode our bikes over. It was a lot of fun. I got a subscription to Greenability, which I’m ashamed to say I’d never heard of. I spoke to Julie Koppen, the publisher. Very nice person. I got a back issue free and the current issue.

I took a few pictures. Check em out. I especially liked the African dance troupe and the kid’s newspaper hat. I also need to buy a rainbarrel from Bridging The Gap. I had 2 back in my home ownership days… $95 each! I gave em away! Little did I know a year later I’d be back renting a house and need some again for my garden. Sigh….

Happy St. Guinness Day from Re-Velo!

Re-Velo wallet, coin purse and a Guinness

Re:Velo wallet and small coin purse kickin’ back with a Guinness.

OK, St. Patrick’s Day is not a holiday I go all out for. Or wear green for, despite my Irish heritage (only partly, I’m mostly Scottish and French) BUT, I love Guinness and don’t the bags look swell against the lovely wood grain of the table?
